When launching POE2 get "Failed to Initialize"

Was playing this morning in the drowned city when my game crashed. After a few seconds, my whole computer froze up with up with a POE2 error behind the POE2 frozen screen so wasnt able to read it. Now whenever i try to launch POE2, it gives me a failed to initialize error message and closes

tried running Packcheck.exe and the repair command through the wizard with no luck

I had the same thing happen to me this morning

Game crashed last night.
This evening I was able to start the launcher and download latest patch 0.1c.
I was unable to play the game.
When the game started a pop up box appeared titled 'Exception'.
In the box it says 'Failed to Initialize' and there is an 'ok' button. Clicking the 'ok shuts down the game.

I was able to overcome this issue by running the 'PackCheck' in the Path of Exile 2 directory.

PackCheck took about 8 minutes to run and identified a folder, file and hash that need to be and was repaired.

I started PoE2 and the launcher allocated space and downloaded 5.5gbs. I was then able to launch the game without the 'Failed to Initialize' message appearing.
