Between lag, reaction time, animation delay and just general I am bad at video games.. the window feels too punishing to make use of.

Can we buff this to something like:
・Raising your shield infuses it with magma for 2 seconds
・Cannot perform a magma infused block for 2 seconds after magma dissipates

or are people actually able to utilise this properly?

Agreed. The duration of the effect is way too short. Any sort of minor lag defeats let alone your own off timing. It does teach you to time your blocks like it's a Souls game.

The duration gem only increases the duration to .7 seconds, which, come on man. Off the name alone I thought, "Sweet I can make a block build that shoots magma!" I got crit with disappointment soon as I read it. .5?!

Duration of the effect does need to be longer at least a full second.

After slapping Persistance into it, either it doesn't work or the increase is just that unnoticeable.
