Merc Roll PossibleBug

Any else seeing their merc's crossbow shake like it is shooting after a roll, but no bolts are coming out for a full second or two? Is there a mechanic I am unaware of? The shooting delay varies so I am wondering if it is a latency issue. I did not notice until I tried the rapid shot skill.
