1. Stop getting hit
2. If you can't stop getting hit, prioritize rooms that restore honor 3. If it's the boss giving you trouble, stop playing melee. GGG hates you PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! And the winds will cry / and many men will die / and all the waves will bow down / to the Loreley |

" I'm playing a summoner, one of the worst archetypes in PoE 2 right now due to how paper weak minions are, and I can handle this trial just fine. Sekhema trial is one of the best features in the game, because unlike PoE1, Sanctum's mechanics actually fit in perfectly with a slower-paced game. The only way you can be worse than me is if you're playing the archetype GGG added as a joke, which is melee. I'll repeat that you should stop getting hit. Unlike Sanctum and PoE1 in general, Sekhema Trial and PoE2 is much slower paced and the enemies have much better telegraphed attacks. There's no reason you should be getting hit unless you think you should be allowed to tank everything. And if you can't avoid getting hit for whatever reason, you need to prioritize grabbing rooms that restore honor. You get those rooms a lot more commonly than you think. " Ok, so we know why you love Trial now. You're playing one of the historically sound and safe Sanctum-Friendly Builds: Minions. Other ones are ranged, totems, etc. However, a lot of perfectly viable end-game builds (like in POE1, Righteous Fire) have pretty much always been notoriously BAD at Sanctum. The reason is that these builds are designed to take hits and keep moving. That isn't a problem on the PLAYER end, that's a problem with how Sanctum is designed. And, if it was 100% optional, like Sanctum in POE1, this isn't an issue- it's optional, you don't need to do it. BUT, before you go saying it's still optional... create a character, run through all the way to the second option for ascendancy. Don't give this character any gear from your other characters, pretend it is absolutely a fresh start at the game. Make sure it is an Unga-Bunga TANK character. Don't make it bad on purpose, do your best with it. Just skip the Trial. You'll notice that somewhere mid-Act 2 the difficulties ramp up. This is because you are supposed to have those first 2 ascendancy points. It's balanced that way. But, if you don't have those points... you go from easily walking through bosses to suddenly dying multiple times. Those mobs you were handling with no issues? Yeah, death on a stick. The Trial is NOT optional. Not really. Sure, you can overlevel 5-10 levels over the content, but that's a heck of a punishment for just 'not using a Sanctum-Friendly build'. To solve this, just remove Honor from the Ascendancy Trials. If doing the Trial for farming (like one would do with Sanctum), fine, keep Honor in there. But, that Honor thing is what kills the builds who just are NOT Sanctum builds. |

" All of this is correct and valid for Sanctum in PoE1. The same cannot be said for PoE2, because minion damage is so god-awful, their survivability is virtually nonexistent no matter how much you invest into their defense passives, and they draw absolutely no aggro. I almost failed twice on the final boss because it burned through my honor. The rest of the run up to that point was just fine. My fiance, who is playing a mercenary and has far worse reaction speed compared to me, also breezes through the Sekhema Trial. No, he doesn't run the gas grenades thing either in case you're curious. He also gets slaughtered in Sanctum on PoE1. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
