Respec is extremely expensive, discourages experimenting with builds and skills
One thing I REALLY liked when I watched that recent pre EA video of POE2 was the promise of respec costing "just a little bit of gold". I thought that finally we'll be able to change the build often and experiment with things without grinding for respec currency or leveling new characters.
Turned out the price for respec goes higher and higher the higher level of your character is. Now I'm at the end of Act 1 and to respec I basically need to spend all gold I got so far if not more. I don't really understand, why this system is so punishing? Game has so many skills and such MASSIVE passive tree that it's literally impossible to plan your build unless you know exactly what skills you gonna use and what nodes you need for that. You'd think that game will encourage you to try different combinations and allow you to change your passive points and see the results but no, it actively stops you from doing it. Such approach greatly hurts the expirience. Instead of trying things out I need to focus on one specific thing for my entire playthough and if I fail at my build I'll need to start a new character. I wonder how many players will just drop the game at that point? I guess after couple of months we'll have enough currency to respec any character more freely but the thing is, easy repec is most valuable during the process of initial learning. After few months you'll know most skills and nodes and it'll be way easier to plan your build so there will be less need for affordable respec. IMO the passive tree should not be permanent at all and you should be able to just reallocate points at will. But at the very least, make respec affordable for characters who didn't reach maps yet. Completely agree. I built a shitty sorc, stuck at the last boss of 2nd act. And for the gods sake i have to grind gold to respec for a few hours

I do agree too than until "Endgame" the respec should be way lower/easier.
I don't remember the "gold respec" cost being that high during Settlers, but i'm pretty sure it will be tune done for levelling after players feedback. |

Simply go to an area with high monster density, kill mobs and sell all blues you find.
I think there's also a boss strat for farming gold. I've experimented with almost all skills so far and didn't run into gold problems simply by farming a bit. Don't be lazy, farm the stuff you need. ;) Last edited by CroDanZ#1818 on Dec 9, 2024, 10:44:38 AM

Haven't had any issues with respect yet. I saved up nearly 50k gold.

That is also a reason why I stopped playing POE 2 for now. Waiting few months.
Rightnow its just too bugged. |

Agreed. Respect needs to be cheaper or the gold drop/vendors need a buff. I'am in lvl 45... if i gamble 2/3 itens my gold go down to 0 and i have nothing to respect and try new things.
