Crossbow Shot Skill Gems Question

Hi Peeps,

I have slotted Pin into my Crossbow Shot.

When firing the basic bolts, it triggers the pinning effect. However, if I use Fragmentation Rounds or other types of ammo, it does not appear to be triggering.

In the tool tip for Pin, it says "Supports any skill that Hits enemies.
Hit noting that "Any damage that is not DOT is a hit"

It seems that whatever is slotted in Crossbow Shot only seems to apply to the basic bolt, but shouldn't it apply to any supported ammo?

Is this intended or a bug?

The basic Bolt is a skill too?

The way it is worded i would assume that it would apply to the ammo?

The basic bolt is its own skill. Meaning that any support gem you slot into it will apply to it alone and not to any other skill, same as if you had slotted it into a permafrost bolts skill gem.

I guess its the way im looking at it and how im reading the tool tips?

To me, Crossbow shot applies to the weapon, whereas basic bolt, ap rounds etc, are all ammo.

It would be nice if it worked that way but probably a bit op?
