Ascendancy Trial killed it for me

I'm afraid I'll be tossing another +1 in the pile posts giving feedback on the Ascendancy Trials.

I already found them awful in PoE1, especially later ones, that became full of very fast instakill moments and bullet hell panic rooms.


I was just starting to like things, too. Been trying Mercenary. Was trying to decide between trying other classes and progressing to see more. But then the Sanctum Honor mechanic in the Ascendancy Trial happened, and that is just not something I can get through.



Just when I thought I was built well enough to get through things, I am thrown into a situation no amount of character build changes will fix or work for me.


It just became PoE1's frustrations all over again for me, and likely will be similarly frustrating for folks I know who are considering the game.

You can skip sanctum and do your first ascendency later on with Ultimatum trial. They should have made this a fork in the road rather than the way they implemented it. I already know I'm skipping Sanctum because its geared toward certain builds and playstyles.
