Skill bar and weapon set synergies

The way the skill bar functions now where you can wield a second weapon set and allocate skills from both sets to switch between weapons and fire them off quickly is good for a lot of scenarios, but to make things more comfortable for builds leaning into more hybridized play styles there should be a toggle (per character if possible) that enables the skill bar to use a different set of skills depending on the weapon being used, similar to how it would function in PoE1.

Ideally I'd like a system where I can place a dedicated "weapon switching" skill in each bar, eg. on Bar A. I have my bow skills with a melee gap closer that, when I use it, switches weapon sets to Bar B. where I have a set of melee skills with something like Escape Shot to return to Bar A.
While the current system does theoretically allow for this kind of skill rotation, it'd mean assigning most of the skills off of the mouse and onto less comfortable keyboard slots, especially while playing with WASD.

With classes like Mercenary and especially ascendancies like Gemling Legionnaire that get a lot of options for hybridization this'd open up a lot of gameplay opportunities.

I agree with this, but would prefer to instead of only having the dedicated swap button having the option to pick a skill that will cause a swap on each loadout - IE: have my raise shield skill swap to my mace and shield and my rolling slam skill swap to my two handed melee. That way I have 2 buttons overlapping between the sets but both are functional skills rather than swap placeholders.
I created an account specifically so I could bump this post by Roadkill. This would bring hybrid classes to a whole new level.

We already have weapon switching skills, which are great. Just a bit hard to find that option maybe. But that's where all those YouTube videos come in. You can do so in the skill menu with some checkboxes.

As soon as my Warrior/Mercenary switches to the crossbow by clicking my right-mouse button (linked to shooting the bolt), the weapon skills under Q, E, etc. become useless/inactive as they are Mace skills. It would be wonderful if after a weapon set swap, those skills under Q, E, etc. would get swapped as well. That would give me 10 skills per weapon set.
Now I would have to use the Control button (which needs to be remapped) for a similar effect, leaving me with 5 skills per weapon set.
