Beat the Mad Wolf without fighting him - Potential Party Connectivity issue

Summary:
Appear to still be connected to party members even after logging back in to the game. There is no evidence within the interface that shows that I'm connected to anybody other than lag spikes and laggy input, and of course the Wolf dying without me being even on the same floor.


Description of what happened:
I had tried to beat the wolf with another group, and as usual my game input became lagged (I assume it's because the party is in a different region, which is fine I guess, different 'issue'). Anyway, we failed to beat the wolf and everyone left. My game was still lagged.
I went to the login screen, confirmed Australia, and logged back in (did not exit the game fully). I was still lagged but I kept playing, decided to level my character more.
Around the 2nd floor down in the Manor I suddenly saw the wolf's health bar at the top of my screen and a whole bunch of debuffs on him. Confirmed I wasn't in a party, network still was spiking though.

It appears (and this is just a theory) that I was still connected to a different party member even after re-logging in to the game.

Inevitably the wolf was defeated... something I'd failed to do for some hours lol. I feel a bit robbed at this point :).

Anyway, I have video evidence of this if anyone at GGG requires it. But there definitely seems to be some jank in the network connection/party management code right now.
