Refunding infernal hound AP deletes support gems

Had two support gems in the skill slot when I refunded Ascendancy Points for Summon Infernal hound and they are nowhere to be found, not in inventory nor in stash. Also didnt reappear when I got the Ascendancy back.

This also just happened to me, I had 3 support gems on the dog and forgot to remove them before I refunded the passive points and now the gems are totally gone. super unfortunate....
