Ascendancy Design Is Trash
|
The bigger problem is they are nerfed ruthless ascendencies not anywhere near as powerful as PoE1. Probably why there isnt a necro asc since that was the one gutted the absolute hardest in ruthless league.

Ascending should never be hard and detrimental to someone's build, at least in the early stage of the ascension. The fact that you can brick your very first trial leave such a bad taste and shit impression about your game and most people won't even reattempt it and go play the next flavor of the month game. Terrible terrible design choice.

To be honest, the Trials are pretty cool, after spending a bunch of time online reading and figuring stuff out, I like the RNG aspect and how runs are different. But to my point earlier, I do not like how hard it was to figure everything out and still feel the game should have provided more explanation about it, or made me more aware its even there.
Also I think it would be better if the Ascendancy was earned through a Trial/Quest of its own, and it comes up as a quest or notification when you are able to try it, same thing goes for the Trials themselves, be nice if when you hit a certain level threshold OR point in the story it alerts you that you can try them and to go learn about them, maybe have an area with an NPC that actually explains them, cause Balbala dont explain nothing when you click on the Trials in dialogue option. Just a thought, overall loving the game Last edited by I AM xSNIPERx#8073 on Dec 9, 2024, 12:24:05 AM

Developers, have you realized yet? No matter how much you simplify PoE, console players will still find it too difficult to understand.

" Im on PC, my point is, it didnt tell me anything about Ascendancy. Having experience in other games similar I figured the story would take me there or a quest would pop up saying I am able to try them or let me know that they even exist, BUT the game did not loool I had to go on google and search it, essentially spoiling myself of the fights, the trials, and everything involved. Could be a lot better done |

New PoE player here. I liked the trials but I do wish there was a clear explanation of the trial-specific systems before going in (i.e. what sacred water can be used for). The obvious melee vs range gap should also not exist, though that can be easily fixed (lose less honor if in combat w/ melee weapon, restore honor w/ melee kills, etc).

bring back izaro or scrap honour system

honor system is the worst part about poe2

"PoE never spoon-feeds all the information; you’ll have to search for and process details about the game yourself. It’s harder than spamming dodge rolls with an overexcited soyjak face, but solving such challenges brings real satisfaction. |

New player here. This is just bad design. There is absolutely nothing in the game to tell me what Sacred Water does or how to use it. I tried looking it up online and found nothing except 'There are special shrines to spend it to get honour back'. Well maybe but I didn't find one yet.
External information is fine for tips but should absolutely not be required to be able to know what an obviously crucial game mode mechanic does. The game does a good job in explaining mechanics with the extra info options but this needs to be explained. Just te,l uswhat Sacred Water is for and how we might make use of it. So far I did not find a single way to use it, and I have been looking. |
