Ascendancy Design Is Trash
|
Honestly love the game, but the Design of things is complete trash, the game doesnt tell you about Ascendancy, you have to spend 3 hours on google reading a doc to even find out its in the game. ONCE you even get there the game DOES NOT explain a single thing regarding the Trials, doesnt explain Sacred Water, doesnt explain you need specific shrines in order to restore your honour. Doesnt explain the relics you can put in there. Its just a complete mess, IF you are a new player you have no idea about any of these systems, items, or mechanics, the game just expects you to know, which in my opinion is TRASH. If you want new players make things MORE CLEAR or make players aware things even EXIST. We all didnt spend 5k hours on POE 1 and know everything about the game, it needs to explain things while your going through the room. They have no problem putting tool tips in the game on how to buy coins with real money. Why cant they put tool tips that would actually benefit players and make the experience overall more enjoyable to do and learn. Typical 2024 Devs

Making Sanctum the way to get Ascendancies was a huge misstep.

" Was sanctum a popular mechanic? I did it once and never again. |

100% agree. This trial system is the only time I'm not having fun at all. As a melee warrior, I absolutely hate the honor mechanic as it stands. I think it's way too favorable to ranged characters as damage is just sometimes unavoidable.
I also just realized they allow you to portal to town to clear your inventory without ANY warning you can't come back without starting over. This whole thing needs a rework with better explanations and more ability to recover honor. Preferably, I'd just remove honor entirely and make heals limited each stage or something. |

I like the sanctum switch as the labyrinth was just outdated.
It does need more tweeks than sanctum has to offer. Melee gets boned so hard though I suppose you could switch up skills just for sanctum. I find that lame though. |

" If you were ranged maybe? I'd say of leagues it was probably one of the most unpopular. A few people liked it and enjoy running it, but most don't. Generally, autofail mechanics are not enjoyed by the majority. It's like putting a sudden Tetris minigame in an RTS that you have to play every time you build a unit or whatever. A minigame in an ARPG that ignores 90% of ARPG stats and mechanics is pretty dumb. |

" Brutally profitable, but suitable for limited number builds. |

" I get the feeling they lied about melee again. "We are fixing melee in PoE 2!" = "We made melee even worse, but now you can switch weapons in every build with weapon spec points so melee can just play bows." The fact that 80% of melee skills aren't even in the EA should show how little they care about it. Again. Last edited by Selenti#1482 on Dec 8, 2024, 9:03:18 PM

I finally hit the trials in A2. Sanctum. Did it once, against my better judgement. Nope. Done. I absolutely hated Sanctum in PoE 1, and it's just as bad as I remembered. Total waste of time and effort. Garbage-tier mechanics.
This shit completely kills my motivation to even play this game. |
