Cannot login to PoE2 servers using proxy connection. (SOLVED)

SOLVED

I have finally found a way to run the game on Steam through an institutional proxy connection by using Proxifier. Basically, just download/install the application, set up your proxy connection as necessary (mine was an http proxy), and add the PoE2.exe as a new rule for that connection. You may need to do a little experimentation depending on the settings of your proxy connection, but you can test it out on another application like chrome if necessary. I should also note that I did not need to add a rule for Steam, which runs just fine without Proxifier.

My settings:

Protocol: HTTPS
Send User-Agent: True

After your proxy is set up and running, launch the game. You should be able to verify in the Proxifier app if the connection has been established and data is being transmitted. You may see none of the servers pinging, but you should still be able to log in and play the game.

Also note that Proxifier is a paid app that you can use for a month before you have to purchase a subscription, so you'll have to decide if you want to pay the money or not.

Hope this helps those who are having issues with the game on a proxy network.

ORIGINAL POST

PoE2 Ver 0.1.0
System: Windows 11 64 bit
Location: Japan
Platform: Epic Games Desktop

I am attempting to play the game using an institutional proxy in Japan and cannot login into or even get a ping on any of the servers. I can see the list of servers, but each time I try to connect, it gives me an error message "Unable to connect to server." Furthermore, all the PING values come up as ???. My gut feeling is this is related to the proxy connection.

I don't see any settings for configuring a proxy connection in the PoE2 options, but I am able to download, update, and launch the game through the Epic launcher by setting the proxy setting of the Epic games launcher. Is there a command line setting that could be used in this situation?

Any advice is appreciated given that the game should be playable if I can succesfully purchase and access the game through the Epic desktop application.

Thanks!

EDIT:

I am attaching a log readout produced by the game in the client.txt file. I am only including the areas of interest related to connections. It appears that the auth related connections succeed, while the server connections do not.

UPDATE:

Although I still have not resolved the problem, I have been able to work around it by using the proxy connection to launch the game, then switch over to my mobile hot spot to login to a server once the login screen appears. This further confirms my suspicion that the game is not utilizing the proxy setting correctly. Hopefully this helps anyone facing this same issue.
