POE2 Win11 24H2 Crashes - Constant crashing, >100% CPU usage, and more
|
This crash has nothing to do with 24H2 and rolling back to 23H2 does not solve it, there are many who crash with 23H2.
Also 24H2 is a mandatory update, soon there will be no option to rollback. This issue is 100% a Path of Exile 2 issue. It has been 45 days now... That's why, once again I ask anyone who encounters this problem to please give a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam in a detailed and informative manner so that others will be made aware of the issue. I cannot send/reply to direct messages because my in-game character has not finished Act 1.
What to do: 1)Write a short review about the hard crashes in notepad. 2)Copy and paste it to steam reviews, put up a negative review. 3)Copy and paste it to steam discussions, put it up there. |

I gave a negative review a long time ago, they ignore the problem of thousands of people, fuck them

Well, for me it only happened once I installed 24h2, after I rolled back, it was gone.
I reinstalled it today AND installed a AMD driver update via the adrenaline software they have and didn’t encounter the issue anymore either. I’m not saying it’s a problem poe2 has, that’s obvious but for me it’s a combination of certain drivers with 24h2. |

Changing the render to Vulkan seems to help (intel/Nvidia)

I've been dealing with this issue since launch.
The only way I can play the game without constant crashing is by disabling Engine Multithreading. Such a shame, it limits ~45 FPS and makes the game look horrible. System specs: i7-13700K 3.4GHz RTX 4070 DDR5 5600 32GB Windows 11 23H2 |

So This is just a suggestion since I had been having the exact same issues. Tried multiple different ways of fixing it. Even disabling multithreading non of it worked. I'm also on windows 11 24H2.
However there is one thing that worked and even allowed me to turn multithreading back on and ramp up the graphics. Heck the fix that worked also fixed the same type of crashing i was experiencing on helldivers 2. There is a setting under your system-Display-Graphics on your pc called Optimization for windowed games. It's supposed to reduce latency and such. How ever appearently it was the reason for my crashing. It's only a suggestion for you to give a try. But turn that off and give Poe 2 a go and see if it fixes your issue as well. |
