POE2 Win11 24H2 Crashes - Constant crashing, >100% CPU usage, and more

Problem got worse after the latest patch...

I reviewed the game as negative on steam.

This is my review, if you want you can simply copy/paste it.
The game hard crashes taking the OS with it, requiring manual shutdown by using the power button.

GGG has been silent about this issue except a single post in known issues which misdiagnoses the problem as a "Win 11 24H2 issue". GGG requested DxDiags and did not access them. GGG does not mention this issue in the patch notes.

Currently on the Path of Exile 2 Early Access Bug Reports Forum has two main threads:
1) Hard crashing PC locks up: 248 Pages, 2471 Replies, 146069 Views. Created at 7th of December, 2024.

2) POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen: 216 Pages, 2159 Replies, 204635 Views. Created at 7th of December, 2024.

In comparison the entire "[POE 2] Bugs" thread has 138 Pages, 1370 Replies, 29196 Views.

In terms of ratio, more than half of the replies and views to the forum belong to these two threads.

There are no bugs that are more important than this. This is not "I cannot use X skill bug". This is "improper usage of system APIs by the application" causing "100% CPU utilization" leading to a crash, resulting in "shortened component lifespan and possibly bricking PC".

There are people who have lost their PSUs, SSDs, GPUs, CPUs, Bluetooths, USBs... Any part you can put in a PC, there is someone on the forum that have lost it due to this "bug".

This happens on every kind of OS and hardware.

OS: Happens on Linux, Win10, Win11.
Hardware: AMD and Intel CPUs, AMD and Nvidia GPUs in all types of combination. If a hardware can run it, there is a person with that hardware on those 400 page threads with this crashing bug.

Whelp, I just had another crash. In the middle of Candlemass fight with the big wolf dude in Act 1. How disappointing.

[D3D12] Failed to create resource for texture []

Popup. This time it only took out the game, and not my entire pc. I've seen this same error popup upon clicking one of the little skulls in the map view of Act 1.

There's apparently quite a few bugs left to squash.

GGG left on vacation for the next month while we suffer through this problem. Don’t expect a fix soon.

Just update your Steam reviews to make people well aware of the problem.

Please also create a separate thread in the forum, by increasing the number of threads we may be able to hit some sort of "metric".

Please give a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam.

Please GGG at least say something about it!

Still playing without any crashes on Windows reverted to 23H2. The problem is already acknowledged by GGG, but apparently people cant read.

Microsoft literally acknowledged the issue on their part and people still think its not a 24H2 problem and pretending like GGG ignores them is ridiculous.

Constant crashes of entire PC with PoE2 everything else is fine.
Tried all the suggested solutions, nothing works.
Sent the dxdiag report to GGG.

They are misdiagnosing the issue as a "mostly Win 11 24H2 problem" when it is not. They have not communicated any further. They did not check dxdiags that were sent to them.

This is not a Windows 11 issue. All kinds of OS and OS versions have this problem. There are people with Linux with this problem. I am on Win 10, I have it since day 1.

Also that particular windows 11 problem is that Windows' "New Feature" was blocking the program's access to system resources, therefore crashing the program but never crashing the PC itself.

The problem PoE2 has is that program is hogging all available system resources due improper usage of system APIs, therefore crashing the program AND the PC itself. (Technically it crashes the OS because OS can no longer get the resources it has to in order to function properly).

Furthermore, I ask anyone who sees this message to please give a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam.
