Act 1 minion build feels terrible.
I feel like it's not too bad for regular area clears. Can be hard for bosses in act 1 and act 2 , but judging on what I saw in public matchmaking on other bosses, other classes do struggle too for the most part. I'll admit the last 25% of act 1 was a pain, but build started picking up pace in act 2 and now it feels pretty good (mostly thanks to the flaming wall raging spirits combo being so good and satisfying to use).
Actual area clear is going pretty good, but it's important not to rely on your minions too much and to have good attack and crowd control skills. They are a diversion keeping you safe and chipping at the enemies while you hit them with your attacks yourself. It is annoying however that most bosses don't provide opportunities for corpses... I'm sure down the line there's a skill that produces corpses like unearth in POE1, but it should be available much earlier considering you cannot use bone constructs or zombies in bosses, meaning you gotta rely on your permanent minions, who die constantly. Also feel like the base spirit is too low. I'm lvl 30 with a spirit chest plate and the +30 buff from act 1 , but I still have less permanent minions that I had permanent zombies in POE1 with a single skill gem at that point... I'm sure once your skill gem gets maxed the costs will get low enough that you can have maybe 5-6 of most , but as of there's too many minions and spells fighting for the spirit pool. Wish the skill tree at least had +30 spirit nodes here and there you could seek... Cause right now you rely on RNG gear to increase your army... Which sucks... Also feel like the minions would die less if there were more to soak in the damage. Again in actual running of maps it's not too bad , as you can backtrack and use the corpse you left in the room before to make zombies, hit new corpse to make bone construct, and use raging spirits to make a decent army, but still the fact 70 of said army evaporates almost instantly or can't follow you to the next room, and the remaining five six unites dies quite often doesn't feel good... And that most bosses don't provide corpses.... So you're left with like 5 minions that keep dying and resummoning while you roll around avoiding damage. That said it does beg the question of if I shoudn't rely 100% on the ragin spirits, since I feel they do the bulk of the DPS and clear... Then again playing a summoner is a lifestyle baby !
