Item level and unique items...

I have two Redbeak Rusted Swords. The 3 socket one is ilvl 28. the other is ilvl6, tho this one actually has a higher roll on the +to max life stat. Why is this the case!? I have read other threads that say you can increase a unique item's ilvl by rerolling the stats on it, but the stats are already high, considering. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

read another thread about finding unique items in different zones etc. my higher level item must be from a higher level act while the other was not. that makes sense, but this would then assume that attempting to increase ilvl by rerolling stats was not an accurate assumption. sounds about right?

Item Level doesn't effect the stats on Uniques.

Item level effects the possible number of sockets however. To get 3 sockets you need an item level of at least 15.

Any insight on what level 3 sockets start appearing in vendors?

I have started to look for chromatics in vendors at level 20+. Could I go to 15?

I thought stats could depend on ilvl.

So i can get the exact low stats on an i45 and i72 item but my i72 can have more links and that's the only difference?

I think ilevel depends on how many mods an item can have...

If not...uhhhhhhhhhhh what's the point in lookin for the perfect ilevel70 gloves and boots?

On most items, the ilvl determines what affixes are possible to roll on it, however for unique items, there are no random affixes(the exact stats can vary in some cases, but always within the same range), so the only thing ilvl affects on uniques is the number of sockets and links that it can have.

Vendor level is not dependent on your level. Normal Forest Encampment vendor items will always be level 26.
