POE2 - Trail of Sekhemas - Minor affliction - You have no Energy shield causing instant fail

I took the "Restore large amount of honour, gain a minor affliction" reward. I was at approximately 40% honour (~300 out of 700). The large honour refill should have filled 232 honour. Instead my max honour changed to 199 (my life max) as shown, and my honour went to 0.

Pretty frustrating, and if intended needs to be made much clearer.
