No longer wanted to play

With 5k hours in POE1, I had been counting down minutes for POE2 for the last few months.
I've never been so hyped for a game since D3 was announced.
After playing about 15 hours yesterday I went to bed -and when I woke up today I had no urge go come back to it at all.
That is incredibly sad.

I made good progress, I'm at the start of act 3. Hardly died.
By my gameplay was mostly made by constant backtracking and dodge rolling, and doing very little damage against even white mob's giant HP sponges.
After 10-15 minute boss fights I'm rewarded with a scroll of wisdom and two useless blue items? Yeah, no thanks.

This game is way, way too slow. I don't mind that it's difficult. I mind that its BORING. Engaging in mobs are basically shoot and run backwards until mobs are dead, then backtrack to next pack.
At lvl 30 I realized I needed a lot more survivability to counter this. By then respecking a single point cost me 500 gold. Really?!
For a brand new game were you want to encourage build exploration, you basically lock players into uninformed first choices by insane respeck prices?

This is version 0.1. I get it. They did a lot of good things. The foundation is there. But I'll take my bow for now, and come back later, hopefully they fix it.
I don't ever want to experience act 1 and 2 like this ever again.
Not for another character, and not for another league.
It simply wasn't fun and rewarding.

I fully agree.
I'm gonna go back to POE 1. I have played Dark souls for about 20 min, a few years ago. Was the only Souls game I have played. Ever since I have hated the Souls games. Was looking forward to play POE 2. Now that i have played it. It just feels tedious.

Thats very interesting because i feel exactly the opposite. The game pace is perfect for me because i find PoE1 too zoomy. It is however the unnecessary difficulty of trashmobs and the fact that the area resets when you die that puts me off. Clearing a map of trashmobs should not feel like a chore, it should be fun. It can be slow and more difficult than lets say D4, but what we currently have is a bit over the top. So my criticism is this: Keep the slower pace, but adjust trashmob difficulty and most of all the loot from bosses. Keep boss difficulty, i actually like it. Bosses are hard but not annoyingly unfair. Trashmobs however, in relative(!) comparison, are hard af.

How do you deal so little damage? My boss fights take a minute at most. Bad builds exist, you know
Agree fully. I've uninstalled already after slogging for 20 odd hours and only got to midway act 3. The campaign is long and slow and I don't feel like at any point I get any meaningful dopamine hit from loot, crafting or any power spikes from new gems, levelling or ascendancy. It's not fun or rewarding as it stands.
Campaign is a slot, progression is non existent. Currencies are none, loot is nowhere to be found. Bosses are dodge or die. Buegh

I agree, i think the difficulty needs to be lowered quite significantly, especially on trash mobs. And then it would still be challenging enough. I worry however: How many people will want to play through the campaign every 3 months for a new league?? It was already annoying in PoE1 but the campaign was pretty easy, so okay. But this? Ugh...tough sell.
This is 100% a guess, but I get the feeling that the problem is that the game is designed in such a way that you're meant to grind A LOT before every major boss, in a "do every map N times" where N is a two digits number.
I get why that'd be the case, specially if you look at poe1 endgame player behaviour, but doing act maps over and over is the real reason d3 sucked (y'know, besides RMT).
I think some changes are in order and not even that many. But to be honest, the disenchant system is way too rigid, way too stingy and way too boring. It's kinda wild that you're still getting 1/10th transmutations by the end of act 2 and then you get a billion augs and transmus, but no longer matters cus now you need good yellows....

I agree, there was a moment on act2, I just 1 hand casting spell to mobs, get killed, respawn, repeat.. until I get level up. I was questioning myself at that moment, "why did I play this game again"?
