You get the 8% life from him but no spirit which I think it's intended. However, the quest icon doens't fade out for some reason. seems to be purely graphical.

Yeah, marker is still showing as incomplete on Cruel Act 1 Map. Killed him a couple of times with no character enhancing drops.
