POE 2 - Ruby lost in Ancient Vows quest

After defeating the colossus in the grotto I went back to the caravan. Zarka had an interaction for finishing the quest. The reward was some sort of uncut gem I believe. I accidentally placed it on top of the ruby in my inventory and the ruby disappeared. I tried everything to get it back, but to no avail. I can't continue the game without that item.

hey you ever figure anything out this is my exact issue i died immediatly after killing him and when i respawned the ruby was gone and now like you im soft locked

Exacly same issue - after colossus i went to caravan and the "The Flame Ruby" was gone. now it only says "place it on the altar". i defeted colossus 4 more times on one instances of level but he wont drop the item.

I have exactly the same issue. The Flame Ruby is gone from my inventory after going back to the caravan using a portal.
Will try to kill the colossus again, but based on others, this will not work.

Same has happened to me, minions killed me just as I killed the boss. I respawned, the item dropped and my character said something about it being warm. I went back to town and the items is nowhere to be found. Good good.

My friend is near this point in the story, I will help them defeat the boss and see if that tricks my game into thinking that I have the ruby too. Probably not because I have already 'picked it up' according to the game.

This is so lame.

Same issue here, the Flame Ruby was gone from my inventory after going back to the caravan using a town portal.

Killed the colossus again, but no Flame Ruby.. Anybody resolve this yet?

Got the same thing. The Flame Ruby dropped and I definitely looted it. But I can't find it anywhere. It's just gone.

EDIT: Killed him again. Does not drop anymore...

Same thing here i was in Chaos difficulty as well so frustrating to be completely locked out of progression this close to maps. hopefully a fix comes soon

Here it is, December 20th, 2024, and there is still no fix, or I have not heard of one. I am surfing the web and hearing stories of the Flame Ruby disappearing, and there is no solution for how to get on with the quest line. It is a bit frustrating.
