Literally, it locks onto minions /mobs you previously dealt damage to, so if your mouse is left and you want to cast left, it doesnt matter, it casts on the monster that its locked onto, behind u, behind 5 walls behind you, to the right, etc.
This 100% will make you lose damage and miss abilitys pack to pack.
This seems like an attempt to make pack-pack fast killing impossible, as you cant target where your skill goes to line up mega packs to spray them down.
It ties into the dodge mechanic and why they force everyone to have & use this, look at your characters feet when firing/moving, your walking on a 360 orb, somethings cooked with movement, its like we are controlling NPC and not players, everythings on a 360 sphere, movement wise and that would be okay if the world wasnt linearly flat. the worlds flat but you have spherical movement.
Just dodge roll some bosses up close to see how cooked movement and hitbox interaction is.
Games extremely overtuned to boot, no support gem drops wtf?
Just figured id save some sorcs/mercenary/ranged players a headache of why is my arrow firing backwards, i clicked forwards, its because they hate regular poe players that use a mouse.

they should just let us disable target locking... it's something that has been asked for years for PoE 1. but due to this games mechanics it's even worse here.

they should just let us disable target locking... it's something that has been asked for years for PoE 1. but due to this games mechanics it's even worse here.
It feels like something that should only exist on console, now that you mention it the entire game feels ported FROM console...
