Tempest Bell Hit Priority

Not much to say other than the bell needs more hit priority. When trying to hit the bell, my character will lock onto the closest enemy instead. At that point I'm not even hitting the bell so why use it? Maybe it needs to be considered an actual enemy to get this to work? Just doesn't feel good to you in its current state, especially as mobs/bosses get bigger, and mob packs increase in size.

I've been hitting it with AoE's, which seems to be working. But yes, it's hard to target otherwise. Fun when you can get it to work, but super-janky when it misses.

Q: Does the game treat the bell like a pseudo-minion? Would minion targeting work to target the bell, too? Real question, I only just thought of it this second and haven't tried it yet.
Stay sane, exiles!

Strong agree, I waste a bunch of time trying to position myself to hit the bell because it prioritizes random mobs.
+1

There are other similar-severe problems relating to this too, hope these gets fixed soon.

Controls: Mouse and Keyboard.
Bell is too clunky. If doesnt work on bunch of bosses due to boss placement or mechanics. It needs to have a good another look at it.
Piggybacking off of this, there are issues with other skills as well.

Solar Orb and Flameblast interaction does not work if a large enemy is near the solar orb or if multiple enemies are, as instead of targeting the orb it will default to targeting enemies and then cast flameblast around your character.

A similar issue with frostbolt and things you can cast on it (Coldsnap, Frost Nova).

Corpse targeting (for purposes of detonate dead) is very difficult in breaches or rituals as the mob density will lead to a similar problem and the spell will fizzle as you technically mouse over a mob and not a corpse. Minions with sacrifice will also not get targeted if a corpse is anywhere near the cursor, despite the cursor being right on the minion.

Shooting crossbows also has a similar issue where you cant shoot in a particular direction but rather the closest enemy to your cursor.

A lot of these issues seem to come from namelocking. This makes a lot of the moment to moment hectic gameplay very frustrating, especially if a spell like detonate dead fizzles multiple times until it detects one of the multiple corpses or flameblast just will not cast from the solar orb.
bump

Still exists
The bell should reward hits from Chaos skills too. Elemental damage (IE: Invokers) is what gets primarily rewarded atm and there's minor synergy with Physical' Affinity for Knockback.

Acolyte of Chayula is neglected again. Let Chaos-tagged hits on the Bell propogate Wither/Poison/Hand of Chayula's Curses/etc...SOMETHING
Its been a while since I played monk, but I seem to recall that when you use the bell ability, the bell appears outside of your melee range. Just slightly.

If you are surrounded by mobs, intending to annihilate them with the bell, you may find that you cannot actually reach the bell and you cant move to it since mobs have surrounded you and you may not be able to move to that directio (or at all).
+1. I've gotten into the habit of backing up slightly before placing the bell, but that wastes precious split seconds that could mean death. It also screws with the whole idea of playing "melee".
Starting anew....with PoE 2
