As a designer you should know this is not an ARPG its a souls game and that's what they are going for...

Then they should not have marketed it as the sequel to POE1.. POE1 is an ARPG.. this is something different.

We deserved a sequel to POE1.. not this

I agree 100%
"professionnal game designer" 😹

As I just replied to you in another comment;
souls like are super fun gameplay concept, POE2 is not.
In elden ring, if I have a beefy shielded character and don't want to roll, I won't roll.

Btw, there is games like "Death must die" that have those mechanics but it
integrates much better to ARPG style: it helps feels fast, powerful, rewarded and is completely optional.

This is 100% a souls game... elite bosses that will one shot you from the start for 1 mistake, slow gameplay, character and skill build up... sorry but no, its souls.

Well, I don't disagree it have some souls like aspect (thank god no stamina bar at least :D ), but if it is what it aims for, then it misses what makes souls game fun by a large shot.
Sorry but regardless of you being a Professional Game Designer, I very much disagree with your take.

This is simply a different approach to an ARPG start where mowing down mobs is not the starting point. I think as a "Professional Game Designer" you'd understand that some games can be designed differently. Given that a lot of people are enjoying it now and enjoying the difficulty of the game just proves that your opinion is subjective to people like yourself who had different expectations even if you worded it in such a way to make it sound objective.

I must have missed the marketing that this was a souls game, I'd have kept my $160.

As a souls game, its a terrible one.

I think the "Its a souls game" is just how many people are trying to get their head around what has been delivered. "Ohhh, its a souls game, that explains this bullshit".
I'm done buying anything until we get some clarity on the future of POE1 and POE2 and I know GGG plans to spend effort on a game I want to play.

Tell us if POE1 still has your top tier support or if POE2 will get a mode for more casual play.

why I love the combat system, I don't care if it's a soul-like game, I never played one of those but I love it in this game, and I think it's better than POE1 in may ways except for the progression system, it make you feel powerless.

I understand entirely their new approach, and felt like POE1 was way too easy /
full screen wipe in less than 2 hours of gameplay.

I'm saying I'm not hating it, but I'm puzzled for such a 180degrees.

Game start is painfully slow, and I want to level Every characters.

Like I can teleport to slap a mob with monk, but not teleport else? F that

I can fully max out a warrior DPS and do far less damage that ranged?
Damage scale is game design 1 0 1 : You don't want instakills, you don't want godlike sponges, or very sparingly. And you want direct melee strike do more dmg that range, without needing weird skill combinations that involve 4 buttons, 2 buffs and a special mechanism to finally be able to do damage with an attack. Where is
nobrainer builds? Even nobrainer asmongold ragequitted warrior and picked up ranged.

Here every creatures in regular progress is a 3hit kill from most classes attacks.
With 20 mobs on screen you re forced to orient yourself to AOE + tricks which is
quite a lot of manipulation, tiresome, and mostly unfun.

I can play many ARPGs even slower paced but have fun with many types of nobrain build or complex one.
Here I see complex as mandatory. And what if I want even more difficulty because I like hardcore gaming ? I have to walk to explore further ......

I love combat as well. Movement is so much cooler than POE1 clunk.
But juice is missing somehow, especially for campaign start.
