Please GGG, remove unique character name-locks and let us add people with our IDs instead
Bravo to GGG for making an innovative take on ARPGs that so many people are enjoying, I am so stoked the EA launch has been a huge success and there are this many people actively playing the game...
HOWEVER- any game where you have an account ID like "name#1234" should not limit the availability of your character's in-game name in 2024 and beyond. Even on day 2 it feels like obscure names are slim-pickings; I literally mashed my keyboard and got "this name is unavailable". This feels bad, is super archaic and is frustrating for a lot of people just wanting to pop in and play who didn't call off work to mash login and attempt to spam their desired character name immediately (and even for some who did). It feels really unnecessary in an any modern RPG, much less an ARPG. The name-game isn't fun, especially if the name hunt has to be re-done every time a new league server launches or upon official release. Please GGG, people are fine adding each other with their hashtag IDs rather than their character names. If 10,000 edgy nerds all want to name their Witch "Death" let them do it so they can get in and play this awesome game with their character fantasy, lest they give up and go with "Xsend_FeetPicsx" and look gross standing next to us in town instead. Remove the unique character name restrictions, or (much less preferred) at least let us somehow reserve names we already have on league/launch servers before they go live if removing the restriction absolutely cannot happen for some hard-coded reason. Nope, unique character names are needed!

" Yes they are! Because in every multiplayer onlinegame your name is = your reputation! German saying: Schönheit und Funktionalität in Sekundenschnelle zu ruinieren, ist dem wahren Dilettanten keine Herausforderung!

" That is exactly why names should stay unique cuz otherwise other people could impersonate you and ruin your reputation. Heart of Purity

Reputation, LOL!!!!!!!!!!!
You know where reputation actually matters? IRL, somehow we are doing fine without unique names there. The chat is so freaking ugly with all the weird unpronounceable names. |

I despise the poe name system. When I started up the game, it took me an actual hour to find a name for my monk that wasn't already taken. Had to dig real deep into a bag of dogshit to find a name I'm moderately fine with. And when the game goes full release it's genuinely going to turn a lot of new players off when they can't even start the game for an abysmally long time
