The Trail of Corruption Quest - follower frozen in place so cannot progress

Whilst doing the quest "The Trail of Corruption" I did the optional encounter before the second gate and had to portal to town to manage the loot.
When I returned via the portal, a voice line plays but the NPC who is supposed to open the gate will not move and so I cannot progress.

I ran into the same issue I believe. on Halani Gate (quest:Trail of Corruption), fought the impaler mini-boss, portal'd to town for loot management, upon return the companion Asala was frozen in place and would not follow to the second gate nor open it.

Same bug today. How it happened:
1. ran to 2nd bridge, before entering Asala said "If we can allow caravan through all three gates my warriors will swarm them under"
2. I did not enter the bridge, go back to clear whole zone
3. killed elite and tp to town to sell stuff
4. tp back, Asala frozen

Just had the exact same issue. No idea how to fix it besides restarting the map. Happened on the second gate opening AND the next part when you have to return to town and then go back and talk to Asala again.
