Loot disappearing on death after killing a boss

It feels really bad to die after killing a boss and losing all of the loot it drops. Decent loot is fairly uncommon as is, so losing out on the what should be guaranteed piles and rare items feels extremely unfair.

Have lost loot from 2 bosses so far. I'd honestly rather have to fight the boss again than lose out on the items it would drop.
