Total no-no for me. PoE 2 is very bad IMO.
If you pay me back my EA purchase -- I'll spend my time for you to describe why.
In a sentece: it's a shame in most cases and aspects, as FOR ME. And many others. Hype will go down soon and then you'll see. I'm very sad, cos I'm in love with PoE. PoE ONE charm and idea. PoE 2 is like... Meh... I feel like fooled and robbed with this EA release. Last edited by Jovianyn#1290 on Dec 7, 2024, 3:38:56 PM Last bumped on Dec 8, 2024, 11:50:55 AM

The way GGG staff has been talking about this game we all knew the writing was on the wall. I'm doing fine with the game, but i'm gonna be honest. I seriously hope it fails.
I don't appreciate anything about the changes to POE 2. I want more POE 1. Not this nonsense. But i've not had a new game since Elden Ring so i'll play it and just feel it's mediocre at best. Hopefully they change things dramatically and make it just more POE 1. While I have no problems, not a single human I know is enjoying this. All my guild played like 20 minutes and was like "what a waste of $30" POE 2 is antithetical to what an ARPG is. It's supposed to be fast as fuck, by design -- they all have been until this very moment. In my mind an ARPG must be lighting fast, tens of millions of damage, kill bosses in 1 shot before phases, etc etc. Basically POE 3.7 era. |

The best summation of POE2 so far is that it amplified all of POE1's problems while solving none of its issues, including being a currency simulator with no decent reward loop for players who don't treat it like a job.
Game devs seriously need to hop OFF the dark souls kool-aid. |

To me it feels like the game was made more to be watched than actually played. Combat is just too sloggy and the boss fights are so gimmicky. No power progression either which is just really disappointing.

" good news POE 1 is still a game. Hope this helps. Strong disagree with the OP, especially the trantrum-y part where they pretend they've been lied to. I think strong criticisms this soon should just just be ignored by GGG. I really hope GGG considers that some of the knee jerk stuff being posted is just emotional and reactive. Same way my kid is instantly hostile about dinner if its not exactly what they were wanting... but then they end up calming down and enjoying it anyway. Every. fucking. time. lol Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4. If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years. Act 3 has broken my will to play against the rocks.
Stuck at a fire boss that one shots me in a single misplay and my dps is so shit it takes 5 minutes with no misteps to down it. "Get better dmg." How? Nothing drops. "Get fire res" All my runes slots are filled, rare gear etc. NOTHING DROPS One cannot help but wonder how such a lust for loot can affect a persons mind. Although these exiles appear to be our salvation, it would not take much for them to turn on us as easily as they fight gods and demons.

Tastes are always different. I love POE1, it has (in my opinion - depth and) complexity, and i like the new POE2 graphic, and the voice acts so far seem also ok (creates some form of atmosphere). Yet i can live with POE1 graphic which is really ok and on the outer edge with the einhar voice line (...).
My best friend loves POE2 more - he says its easier now, simplified, console viable, interchangeable with d4 .. so this player base is won and the rest will have to live with compromises or move on, or stay with POE1. He recommends auto loot, equip and auto-skill to keep the flow based on option settings and selected archeclass skillplan.. why not.. we had games which balance around few stats, and automation and optional recommendiation can indeed really help with the flow (no different opinion on the latter). Eventually i was never the target group here anyway in first instance.. i like oldschool vendor recipes, i like to use srs active and link unleash, (and i dont have a bad opinion about detailed crafting or throwing fusing and jewelers at things such as skill gems - a wheel with 'how many' would have sufficed me already), i liked delve, heist.. etc but some of these design changes were needed or wanted by commmunity and some were necessary to make it console and eventually mass viable, and to cook it down (i personally dont mind to have so many options for crafting or to earn currency, and the ability to combine that). By all means, automation, and / or an overlay for simplification are nice and useful (i recommend to link these but those skills are also possible).. dont feel bad on console. Yet i seem to miss something.. i hope i find it. Its by far not a bad game - maybe it is just me who is too stuck thought wise. Last edited by Storylyne#1859 on Dec 8, 2024, 4:58:28 PM
