Sanguimancy is a DEBUFF
To have this as a mandatory first notable in the ascendancy is absolutely terrible. I'm playing right now and it felt so awful I had to remove it from the tree.
1) There is not enough life sustain at the level you get it. No leech, no additional recovery, NOTHING. Those orbs only appear when the witch herself crits, not her minions. You have to dive into aoe-ridden melee range to grab them, risking even more life. 2) But life overcap! WHAT OVERCAP I'm struggling to even maintain my life at over half. Before Sanguimancy my biggest struggle was keeping up my mana. Now I have to worry about mana AND life! What an upgrade. 3) Does not alleviate ANY mana issues I was having. Isn't the point of blood magic to not have to worry about mana? 4) Life leech node from secon ascendancy is gated behind the Sanguimancy. This should be the other way around - get the leech to help you first, THEN add the life cost. How are we supposed to sustain otherwise??? 5) Vitality support gem I cut to try to help with the drawbacks of Sanguimancy DISAPPEARED when I unspeced the ascendancy node. There is not enough support gems AS IS (I haven't found any in between lvls 13 and 23!!!) so losing one is tremendously horrible.
