There's definitely scope to
* scale down the difficulty for levels 1 - 4 *slightly to moderately*
* improve overall loot
* more movement tutorials - circle strafing / front and back dancing - a tendency to overuse dodging is an interesting trend based on forum posts
We're seeing a lot of blowback from the speed is good decade, and this is not going to fix itself overnight - the devs catered to this behaviour and mindset between 2015 onwards, and undoing this goes beyond technical / how to videos
I'm going to keep repeating these in the hopes that it helps others, but
* keep moving!
* buy stuff off vendors and pick-up sell / disenchant (at least while loot is at a low volume)
* don't try to do a 1 button build - synergies matter a lot
* frost and cc is chronically undervalued in POE1 and this has about-faced in POE2, going glass cannon raw isn't going to work
I'd rather see the forum filled with constructive support and problem solving, over pointless ranting, albeit I appreciate why some peeps have resorted to it
EDIT - clarity
i certainly appreciate that people dont want 'drool on your keyboard' difficulty, i dont want that either.
it alll boils down to the point that campaign bosses are going to destroy a huge chunk of new players interest and it shouldnt be like that. there is no reason for it.
let everyone get to what 90% of us care about (endgame).

Before they start "tweaking" anything they should just add another life flask and go from there... Most/all of my deaths would have preventable so far with the 2nd flask. I don't want an easy game. I don't want to zoom through it, I can play poe1 to do that. I played 24.2hrs now and I'm lvl23. This is fun, no seriously. This is what I wanted.
Start playing co-op. I found *** yesterday playing alone and today I teamed up with a nice guy for "The Dogfight" and we both made it and I found some cool stuff along the way...

I get your point completley with the scaling, and I believe our posts are mostly aligned.
That said, I would challenge you on the 90% want to get to the end game - why do you hold this paradigm? Why should the campaign not be fun, and instead sped through as an 'urgh, just get through it' piece? Why can't the core game itself be just as fun as the end game?

firstly, ill admit that 90% is a totally made up number. wording that as "the vast majority" would have been better. semantics though.
how many people do you think play ARPGs, finish the campaign and go "great. time to start again"?
seems like a pretty safe assumption that almost nobody plays like that.
GGG shifting focus to endgame was extremely well received, seems to reinforce my opinion.

it can be, it should be. i dont think it currently is.
my opinion is that campaign bosses have a significant gap to play with there.

its GGG
so in closed beta for POE 1, I argued with Chris that racing was not ever going to be popular and it should not be the focus of the game, now a decade later and they finally admitted this reality.
Then now we have POE2. They want the focus to be on Boss fights. I think again, this is the wrong direction for the game and looking at the reviews so far, it seems many agree.
im fine with it for endgame, if i wanted to face roll bosses i would play the exile-like.
my main point is that bosses through campaign are going to drive people away before they ever get a chance to fall in love with the actual meat and potatoes of the game. its a bit saddening really.
I agree with this sentiment. I am not sure the difficulty of the bosses is the main problem here though. I think its the lack of ability of options to better prepare after getting wrecked a couple of times.
There are massive gear/flask limitations to try and prepare better after failing and realizing your gear is lacking. The gold costs are extremely high on vendors for act 1 to try and maybe get gear with some better resists as an example.
Limited to 1 life flask is basically a death sentence once you run out.
Loot in general does feel like Ruthless and that’s just not what softcore is for.

Actually, that kinda is how I play POE, each league I level a bunch of different characters to maps and only really do a few t1's. I will generally set up 4 or 5 characters like this just trying out new stuff and exploring the league mechanics etc in the campaign.
Usually I will be leveling a couple of characters at a time, because once you have done 4 or 5 campaign playthroughs you can mix and match all the gear you got to set up 2 pretty good characters to have fun messing around in early maps without worrying about your build struggling with the journey up to T8/9 or so.
