Asala stopped following me after town portal

Location: The Halani Gates (Act 2) After killing a rare monster inside a room with many impaled bodies on spears, I returned to town to empty my inventory. When I returned to the instance, Asala was stuck in the loot room. I ended up re-running the area in a new instance. I believe this happened between the second and third gates. Happened to me as well but at another spot. Seems if you portal out to get rid of your inventory Asala wont move. She joins fights nearby but then stops moving again.
