Died _after_ boss encounter, items gone

In The Red Vale:

1) Killed the Rust King
2) Saw a bunch of items drop on the ground
3) Died to fire?
4) Resurrect at checkpoint, which is 5 meters away
5) Items gone!

I don't think you should delete items that are already on the ground like that.
Specially not when it's just out in a leveling zone and not a special boss arena.

I think especially in a boss arena they should not go away. The bosses are hard and take some attempts. I died to a boss but my DoT killed the boss while I was dead. It counted the victory and deleted every item except the one that is specific to the boss. I would have rather been forced to try the boss again and get loot than see the unique on the ground only to respawn and see only the consumable remains.

Technically, you wiped even at the end there is some sort of remaining enemy around of the boss encounter it still counts towards that encounter and if you then die, you basically did not beat the boss :)
I once tried to swap support gems during fight but by accident dropped one and died, when I came back it was gone :c

Dieing before the boss dies, I would agree does not constitute beating the boss, but I died after...

I killed the boss, but there was a debuff or something still active on my character, and the debuff killed me shortly after. All boss items that dropped were then wiped when I resurrected except an uncut skill gem...

ie. in my log you see, "xxxx has been slain" but then right below it you see "you have died"

If they're going to give me credit for killing the boss, I should get the items... end of discussion.
