Cold Snap Witch - Advice Needed

Softcore Build:


Plan:
I plan to spam either lmp/gmp Freeze Spear to get crits and either use Power Charge on Crit or Volls to stack Power Charges. I want to then have two Cold Snaps which can be spammed, one is increased aoe for packs and another with concentrated effect, culling strike, item rarity for single targets or rares.

Any thoughts? Too squishy? Ways to optimize my build?

Cold snap has a cooldown :( You really have to hit hard to progress fast i think, but i didnt think much about so maybe im wrong :D

Cold snap cd is bypassed by spending a power charge. With power charge on crit or volls and a gmp ice spear with high % crit I should be able to have tons of spamming. Plus two cold snaps don't share cds :)

You'll need a lot of crit chance to do this. If you get it to like 40%~ with charges, you could be able to spam cold snap at 2+ targets. I don't know if power charge on crit gives charges per amount of monsters hit, if it doens't, go for voll's. My point is to keep cold snapping' with ice spearing only to get the first charges, and then chain snaps.

I think you could achieve nice DPS with lots of crits and freezes, because cold snap has high base damage and VERY high base freeze chance.

/Your build does not give enough survivability. You could go Chaos Inoculantion so you don't have to get tons of life nodes and just some ES.

Ice Spear/GMP/Inc Crit Chance/Power Charge on Crit :)

What do you think, swap out life nodes for es and then go CI? That's pretty gear dependent I think, I only have about 3ex I could spend on this.

I thought of something like this. Maybe even less crit nodes and the additional 5x8% ES cluster. But that would make me have to grind more with freeze pulse before transition.

I'm doing it on HC, so I'll need much more survivability than just 70% life.

Let me know how it works for you on HC, I'm doing it on SC right now and am lvl 39 :)
