Device: PowerA Lumectra Xbox Wired Controller
Game version: PC Standalone client Issue: 1. Pressing options button in the menu exits the game 2. The options button needs to be hold down to access the menu. Sometimes it would keep remaining until i press B. 3. Pressing A in game (both POE 1 and POE 2) toggles the chat. Resulting the controller cant be used because i cant interact with anything on screen. The controller works fine with other games like Hades, Last Epoch, etc. I just bought this brand new controller to play POE2. Please help. Thanks! Last bumped on Dec 24, 2024, 4:36:56 PM

I'm here for exactly the same issue. "A" button press brings up the chat - no matter what screen I'm on. Absolute nightmare!

I tested this in poe1 it has the same issue. Let's hope GGG can address the inconsistent controller compatibility issues.. wasd-ing now ><

Same issue here.
- Controller: Xbox Elite 2, both wired and bluetooth. - The pause button issue seems to be interpreting the button press as a rapid series of presses? Hard to tell but it does seem to flicker in the menu. - Chat issue is persistent everywhere. The 'A' bind seems incorrect. |

Stand alone client
dualshock ps4 controller Same issue here on poe2, "X" opens chat and doesn't allow me to bind abilities. Edit: Adding some more context I have ds4 windows installed on my system, when it is active the game detects 2 controllers. After seeing that some games fallback to steam for controller support i closed all other launchers, steam, gog, epic and i can now play the game without the chat issue. I found a workaround on this, add poe 2 in steam (as i am using global client). Launch game in steam and the controller works. Hope this helps!

" EDIT: The bug is back. Apparently the native client just does not like Steam being open, despite "disable Steam input" being selected... I confirm this worked for me. I first downloaded the Steam version, because I play all my games in Steam. But the performance was iffy, very spiky. I was about to start being killed in maps as mob packs loading in always made the game spike in latency/graphics lag. I downloaded the native client but had the exact issues OP described. After reading the forums, I disabled Steam input for POE2 in Steam (even though I had already uninstalled it from Steam by then), and that worked... but only if I did not open Steam before I ran the native client. This method of launching the native client as an external app via Steam seems to work, though, thank you! Now to see if the native client is actually any more performant. If not, I'm just going back to Steam client again. /popcorn always, because people Last edited by deadamaranth#4371 on Dec 24, 2024, 9:13:27 PM
