Minions too squishy
So far 20 levels into the game and minions still get killed in one or two hits, even with passives to give them more hp. Every bosses attacks kill them in one hit whether archers, arsonists or warriors, and the revival time and lack of damage they output makes them feel pointless.

Fully agree. The minions feel horrible in the beginning and you just end up spamming some low dmg attack to kill the bosses. They just one shot wipe the entire minion army. And I feel the minions don't really do much dmg vs basic enemies either.

My witch at level 10 with level 4 minion skills does less thank half damage than my level 3 merc. why? cause my minions vaporize when targeted by any boss. This sucks.

I agree, although all minions feel weak right now I am especially disappointed with Summon Zombie.
With how incredibly squishy all minions are + requiring a corpse (which at least in act 1 there hasn't been something like Desecrate from what I remember) the skill feels pointless, this is especially true in fights where the adds tend to not leave corpses (

i had the same experience and this is so anti-fun-gaming; so i quit playing summons with witch; every boss attack in mausoleum kills all minions; hope for a better balancing; ggg killed summons in poe1 and now in poe2 the same fails

Perma-summons are once again getting shafted, just like they are in PoE1. After getting killed 5 times by Geonor because he destroyed my minions instantly and I had to spend most of my time running around until they revived, I equipped ED+Contagion. With not a single point invested into chaos damage, I killed him effortlessly.
I don't play Path of Exile to be a fucking spellcaster. If summoners don't get some much needed attention, I'm going to go back to PoE1. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds. Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! MFers found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on them. It does not get better. At level 30 with +2 levels to minions, and a few minion nodes. Every single attack from a boss will 1 shot all my minions, including the skeleton warriors with meat shield on it.
The only reason why I'm still progressing is getting absolutely hard carried by a friend with melee. My """"burst"""" damage from mages manages to take off 10-20% hp of a white zombie, and any pack of white mobs will absolutely decimate my pack of minions. The only abilities I can deal damage with at this point is my curse and bonestorm. It does not help that most of the ok support gems seem to be locked into tier 2-3. Will report back once I get a little further. But at this point, just go with a bow build or spells. Minions seem to be subpar spells that can die and can't be easily scaled. |

They are ok in map fights but once you hit a boss fight they are completely useless. They just get one shot and the respawn time is way too long. It makes it pointless to have them skill slotted. Not to mention there are hardly any corpses or adds to fight making even more skills obsolete. I just don’t think minion builds are good for this game or the vision of the game the the developers want.

Don't expect them to tank and spank and you'll be fine. You know that they're going to die - use it.
When you're "summoner" you can still cast yourself, whatever that may be. The playstyle of "watch minions do everything for you" will not work here so don't expect it to. " I'm sorry, but you must be something very, very wrong here. I've been using skele snipers and their gas thingy explosion (after it have been nerfed) and one shot from these could take ~40-60% of pack monsters hp, easily. Add that I had 3 or 4 of them. There are many threads about this. I think GGG is aware by now. Yes ACT I for sure and some port of ACT II minions are very weak until you ascend and get raging spirits + hound combo running.
A lot boss fights with only skeletons summoned they are dead after one aoe hit from boss. Because timer for auto resummon early game is long, it does feel you are not playing minion class. I think early game skeleton skill and few others needs to be reworked. Also the skill to convert bodys into minions often in boss fights you dont have any adds so cant resummon skellys yourself ether.
