New contagion feels awful.
Damage-wise contagion-ed feels good (at least on low lvls), but mechanically it is a nightmare.
New contagion does not have any aoe effect on cast and it is close to impossible to land it on the same monster as essence drain if there is a couple of fast monsters in the pack. What is even worse, it looks like there is some sort of smart targeting and due to different nature with essence drain even if monsters do not move and you click on the same spot twice it lands on a different one. Awful is an understatement, targeting is infuriating: 2 mobs - you mouse over one to cast contagion and it decides, f u, and casts on the other mob.

On console it's even worser. I cannot count how often I was killed from mobs because of that...

Honestly, Contagion + Essence drain feels like it falls off incredibly hard in act 3. I am specced into Chaos damage, yet somehow I kill enemies faster with lightning spells despite not having taken any lighting damage nodes. One Contagion+Essence drain is barely enough to kill a normal enemy in two seconds, despite having a +3 on skill level.

Maybe little help, start with ED. Than it works bit better.

Contagion needs more than one target. It's a useful skill to stack with the weird chaos totem but the setup is way too long when enemies run at 500% movement speed. Maybe it will be tolerable if it can be worked into an autocast support of some kind and I can spare the 60 spirit just to do it.
The more More you have, the less Less matters
