The post exists in the first place because someone can read it as if the bonus spirit came from the gear.
Except that's not how stats have ever worked, in PoE 1 or 2. The benefit comes from the notable, it is scaled based on a stat on your gear. At no point is it adding spirit to your gear, and spirit on your gear would be ignored.

I agree, they could of made the wording way more clear by adding a single word, "affixes", after equipment.
A random example, spirit provided by a sceptre comes not from its affix.
Aren't implicits still affixes? Is there no word that encompases all the mods on a gear?
