TOS Under Duress

"
GDPR doesn't protect your shared data.

There are companies you can hire that send out GDPR notices to those companies, and if they don't comply, it has legal consequences. Every company so far I've used this on, including GGG once, complied immediately and without a fuss. Like I said, you don't fuck with the GDPR.

this is a joke right? you know sarcasm is against ToS right? if there is anything scammy about ToS is this line:

"All Posts must represent your genuine opinion of the matter in question;"
like this is entrapment of the worst kind. not even on the forum, game level but it can literally land you in prison these days.

It’s okay. As far as I’m concerned in this fictional game my stories and information posted are artistic works of fiction and falsehood. Only a fool would take anything I posted here or in game as fact.
"All Posts must represent your genuine opinion of the matter in question;"

thats a weird one. i change my opinion on things frequently.. sometimes on a daily basis.

am i supposed to redact all my previous posts if i change my mind on a subject?

wouldnt worry about it..

Imagine owning a phone, FB account, twitter, literally anything online and thinking ANY piece of information about you isn't absolutely everywhere.

I mean this is clearly a troll post, but there are people naive enough to actually think that isn't the case.
I actually read through the TOS and online agreement for Wolcen and that asks for things like your first born child. I was not impressed.

None of that stuff can actually be legally claimed so that renders any and all parts of the agreement null and void.

For an agreement to be legally binding any and all parts of the agreement must be lawful.

Which means you are not legally agreeing to the sale and use of your information, and if they sell it to any other agency they are breaking various privacy laws.

Nor can they legally prove you had given them any consent to do so if its not verbal or a physical signature.

Installing a piece of software is not proof of your consent. "If its installed, then he must have had to have pressed that agreement button" is speculation and not proof.

If you keep pushing them though, theyre not going to pay the legal fees. all that will happen is you'll get a refund and your account will be banned.

If you keep pushing them though, theyre not going to bother paying the legal fees. All that will happen is you'll get a refund and your account will be banned. And thats certainly not worth the legal fees to your self.

Reading the TOS was like reading the worst contract you could ever sign for anything.

"We don't have to actually provide you with anything, including the truth, payment, or otherwise."

"We can just take it all away on a whim, and you can't hold us responsible or ask for it back."

"Asking for it back is an indefensible aggression at our discretion."

"We own everything we don't own yet, including your stuff."

"If we ask you do destroy evidence, you have to do it."

"Even if all of this is illegal, you have to abide by the parts that haven't been legally challenged yet."

Like, yikes. Straight copy paste from Blizzard, or any other corporate's fantasy dream.
Yes, I read through the TOS. Most of it is standard boilerplate where GGG is indemnifying themselves from the usual stuff, and telling players they can't do malicious/offensive stuff. You can't make money off the game or any part of it, other than streaming and getting paid to stream. No cheating, play the game yourself. Etc etc.

As for data sharing/selling - the information is in there, but it doesn't look they are doing anything most other sites aren't doing.

There's time enough to read it yourself before launch.

I personally do not like the nitty gritty of the new TOS.

It's the reason I didn't splurge for the $240 suppack.
