GGG is too p****y to say they made a mistake about regional pricing
the mistake would be not to fix regional pricing

" I see I spawn the die hard loyal dogs of this game Am i being a lil bitch about them raising regional price by 110%? OH YES. Is your GGG masters a bigger dick about not mentioning why some region maintained theyre regional pricing but the dozens got stealth change. you know you dont have to play EA if you dont want to right? its not a requirement
if you are too poor to pay $30 you can just wait for release, play the free poe1 and then play the free poe2 [Removed by Support] (سಥ益ಥ)س (سಥ益ಥ)س (سಥ益ಥ)س (سಥ益ಥ)س (سಥ益ಥ)س (سಥ益ಥ)س (سಥ益ಥ)س Last edited by Jacob_GGG#0000 on Dec 4, 2024, 2:42:58 PM

" Yes I am honestly upset. I was about to invite discord and close friends to join POE 2 (POE 1 not very famous in my region) because we left our competitive games (dota, cs, apex, rl) and i heard a lot of good things about POE 1 from my brother. Unfortunately it left a bad impression on them about the change of price Theyll try it maybe when its f2p but im sure they never announced the exact date |

" Ill pay the Liberator pack right now if GGG announce why they change regional pricing. As this thread is. Its about company who dont give their customers respect |

" Paid early access is something almost 100% of "Early Access" games do. What this game is not doing is releasing in a week and letting those that pay more access it earlier as a headstart, such as what happened with D4 and many other titles. From this it appears as though you cannot quite grasp what an "Early Access" game is. (At the risk of upsetting you even more PoE 1 also had a period of early access that people had to pay to get into. And that was over 12 years ago! D4 trend my ass.) |

They did not remove regional pricing. The changed from a purchase power parity model to monetary parity model. There is a lot of possible tipping points for the decision to do that, and based on the timing my guess is it was fraud related to the ancillary digital keys in the packs (you can put this into the ruined by idiots category), but it could have also been volatility in monetary markets, it could have been that Valve only updates the purchase power parity suggested pricing every few years and it was just easier to implement a monetary parity model than to wait for valve to update their suggested pricing in regions, it could be they wanted greater transparency, it could have been an attempt to minimize some other kind of arbitrage (like say currency sellers and botters consistently buy a set package for their bots via fraud and the bank says they'd have better jurisdiction if they were accepting payment in the US dollar), it could have also just been the fact that the goods they're selling are worth what they say they are worth and if you want them then you'll have to meet their price. I don't know what the tipping point was, I doubt it was revenue optimization but it could have been. I'd be thrilled if their global marketing exec could chime in on it and tell us the full story, or if they do ever share the full story let us know which magazine that interview is going to be in or if they're writing a textbook maybe put it there.
But in the meantime, if you want to get into the poe2 hole you're gonna have to pay the toll. IGN : Reamus

It definitely leaves a very bad taste, only because of the lack of communication.
I bought the game right away for $15 on Steam, and the next day I went to gift a copy to my brother and it was $30 (all packs doubled in price). The change also priced out a couple of friends that planned to buy it. Try to have some empathy, imagine if your own local prices doubled from one day to the other and GGG was radio silent about it. Feels pretty bad. |

GGG is terrible at communication. They take their community for granted, disrespect genuine concern, ignore feedback, etc. This is a honeymoon phase for supporters because of POE2's release but for a decade prior GGG has dropped the ball time and time again, and with success this will only get worse. If you love these games you should be appalled by the blatant indifference GGG holds towards its consumers (who are the reason they had the opportunity to make a second game).
The fact that the most basic acknowledgement of regional pricing and the hundreds of thousands of players affected by its removal has not yet occurred is baffling only until you realize they're far more interested in your money than your satisfaction. |
