Purchased PoE 2 Early Access Supporter Pack Please Help!

So I purchased the early access supporter pack to get a steam key for a friend. I took the steam key that was attached to my PoE account under the account management>>early access section in my account settings and gave it to my friend as a early christmas gift. He redeemed the key on steam with no issues but he isnt able to see that he has early access on his path of exile account. Whenever he clicks the early access section on his account page he is met with:
"
"Your account does not have access to Path of Exile 2 Early Access. Bribe a friend who has a spare key or purchase now."
He has his steam account connected to his path of exile account so I'm sure that isn't the issue.

Is this cause for concern? Also, will he able to download the launcher on steam on early access release or should he already have the option to do so?

Thanks guys. Appreciate the help.

Hi there, as stated here:

"
If you have purchased a key and/or have access granted for one PC game client (Stand-alone, Steam, or Epic), but wish to play on another game client, you will be able to do so by claiming a key to unlock access to that client. These are available at my-account/early-access and can be redeemed on the relevant platform's store. Please note these keys only unlock the client in your library, they do not on their own provide early access to your account.

As an example, if you purchase a Supporter Pack through the Path of Exile website, you will be able to claim a key to unlock the client in your Steam Library.

So the key was wasted?
The key you gave him was for you to be able to get the steam client not for early access

Edit If you want you can go on steam and gift the $30 pack to your friend and have him give you his steam key if you wanna play on steam or you can just buy another $30 pack and give him the EA key and keep the 300 points and you play on stand-alone not sure if it would give you another steam client key tho

From my understanding:

If lets say you buy a supporter pack (your account that you bought on, automatically has the early access - yes)

But the steam key given to you, is for the steam platform key itself ( believe on early access page it is written there , and using it will allow you to claim POE2 on steam itself )

Likewise for epic store, it is only for yourself.

There are then alternate stand alone keys (that you can gift to friend, that mentions used: false)

These are the standalone keys, that can be claimed and used outside of steam/epic store.

If he claimed your key in steam, he does not have the early access, instead he has the key to your steam POE install.

That is because platform keys are a separate thing from early access keys(standalone)
Ah I see. Yes he already claimed the steam key on his account... so I guess my best bet would be to just gift him the actual product on steam itself.

As far as the purchase I made already, I guess I can just use the EPIC key for myself for this account? Since I know longer can claim the steam one? Correct?
