Question About Reserved Character Names | Inactive Account or Character?
Hi, I have a question about reserved character names. It is known that for an account inactive for over a year, the reserved character names will be freed and released into the name pool for use by other players.
I have tried to search for valid information, but I found two conflicting sources. In this forum thread https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3418466, ShaunB_GGG stated, and I quote: " However, in this interview video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lB3TM5FrsY, Jonathan Rogers mentioned at 21:16 that we need to log in to the specific character. He also brought it up again at 21:42. Could you clarify which one is correct? Do I simply need to log in to my account to keep the character names, or do I need to log in to each character individually to retain their names? Last bumped on Dec 4, 2024, 5:53:35 AM

As far as I am aware, you only need to login to your account via the client once a year. (Jonathan even said in that clip that he wasn't actually sure if it was per character or account).

" Hiya, thanks for your patience. To answer: just logging into any character on the game client should be enough to avoid any character names becoming inactive. Please note you will need to log into the game client, not just the Path of Exile website. |

Thanks for the clarification. Since I treat my past characters as trophies, I was worried about my characters' names after watching Jonathan's interview. Thanks again.
