SUGGESTION: shared loot is meh

Nothing more, nothing less than the title.

Playing in a party an have to deal with ppl complaints because loot sharing is completely non-sense in 2024.

Are you lobbying for personal loot or something? If so, no thank you.

All of the best items that can drop should either be split up amongst the group, or if youre carrying the person doing all the work and investment should get the best items.
I'm just wandering how strangers can deal with shared loot.

it will be a run to get the best loot i guess.

i use to play with my wife and i already know I'm gonna lose this battle.

By default your loot is locked to you only being able to pick it up, you can change it if you’re with friends that you know well enough to not steal that ‘epic’ drop you wanted.
Additionally in poe2 loot drops are slightly more favourable to your class, so in a group you probably don’t want the chest pieces that dropped for them but can ask for sure.

What shared loot, the meta became don't loot or kick lol to my great displeasure, it used to be a lot more friendly and if things aren't going to improve shared loot is a detriment in general if the "my loot your exp" trend continues into PoE2.

definite upside to Last Epoch over PoE in this regard, i still trade in that one i just don't have to worry about getting kicked because i touched a stick.

Edit: i did notice a slight upswing on community partys in recent times though so there's still some hope for community to win out.

good old times where we had no loot allocation. i enjoyed all the whining of those unskilled folks who lost precious stuff cause other players were faster.

all those hundreds of thousands of posts shouldn't be forgotten, lets revive the discussion!!!1

same :)

to follow up, i've been one of the folks who lost precious items to faster players, had a hard time swallowing the losses, always decided to quit the game but decided otherwise after a good nights sleep.

eventually, being near the drop location was the only thing that really made playing melee attractive, it's been melee players only advantage which compensated for the slow movement speed and less clear speed.

I kept it simple and ran a guild that shared drops of a certain value+ and then div out my own currency to make sure people are staying relevant gear wise, I learned pretty early on the stress of loot in this game and that to continue playing i had to find a way around it.

yep, to get something to drop at that time you needed to play in parties, there was more pressure to build communities and join guilds and organise yourself. and bring your friends into the game cause you needed people to play with which you could trust.

then ggg catered to those who hate real people and introduced loot pinata leagues and loot allocation modes, trivialising the game for those who organised and shared stuff. i left my guild at that time and got my family guild going.

the early poe from chris and jonathan had alot more appeal cause everything made sense, ingame mechanics were more harmonised and worked together, everything was simpler.

i wouldn't say that poe is bloated nowadays, i welcome more areas to play and more challenges. but mechanically they overdid it, it's "path of trade offs" more than everything else now.
