One thing that D4 and LE did better than POE

I live in the USA, and I play D4 and LE with friends live in Taiwan or South America by natural game support hassle-free.
I never played POE, but I learned that I may not be able to play POE2 with those friends without using VPN to bypass the server separation and content surveillance!!! This is a big letdown of me, GGG. You should just let people play with friends regardless where they live!!! It's definitely not a technical challenge in 2024 as far as I know. As far as I am aware, only China operates on a different game version/server. I believe Taiwan and all of South America operates on the global POE version. Which should continue to be the case in POE2.

LE and D4 are "fully owned" by their respective companies.
GGG was "bought up" by tencent, which is a china company. they do not interfere with POE global in anyway but have full say when it comes to POE China. if you're from china, you're FORCED to play on poe china unless you have some vpn to bypass china's restrictions. i m not sure if taiwan is forced to go for china servers but thats how it is [Removed by Support]

You can play with your international friends. Even when they are connected to another server. I’m connecting to Japanese server as an example and play with my German friends, who are connected to their servers.

poe global : many different servers worldwide, you can cross play at the cost of ping/stability poe china : censored poe with some p2w stuff. an actual trade house. and premium pets such as daughter of sin which are pretty cool. its not accurate to say it's an entirely different game. its the same game but on a different branch. " the poe that YOU know, is POE international client. you can access it via standalone client or steam. that is the one that you know without restrictions. there is actually another client, POE China which is separate from POE international. thats what i m talking madude edit: you can check their website poe dot qq dot com if you have an account from poe china, that account cannot join any one from poe international. and vice versa BONUS INFO: besides poe china, we actually had POE on Garena which also was separate from POE international. but after Garena "died" the players were merged into POE international. thats where you get to see some players having the Garena "red mascot" pet or even mini elephant pets.
