Yeah... especially among most of the biggest Diablo streamers, there is a massive interest in PoE2. I really hope GGG is well prepared to handle 500k+ logins on Dec 6 .
I'm also assuming, that's one of the reasons for making it paid access. To stem the tide, and to know how many people to prepare for...., but there will still be a significant influx closer to launch / end of the month, which will leave too little time for GGG to get additional hardware in place. That's one of the reasons why I decided not to pay the EA fee. Given their history, I doubt it will be a smooth first couple of days. It will be worst than Last Epoch. A ton of people are getting the EA after that live stream.
I get why they don't have a mmo-like server structure, but still, it's a shame they don't spend a little more on better servers. |

Last couple of leagues have launched extremely smoothly. I will say however, I absolutely expect there to be issues on the 6th, but It's all good. The massive influx of new players, across all consoles and all at once is going to be freaking insane.
I'd say for the record D3 was probably one of the worst launches of "recent" memory, and while I think servers will get slaughtered for 3-6 hours, I do believe they will figure things out and get things running relatively smoothly much faster than what happened then. Hope for the best, plan for the worst. Don't act all indignant and surprised when it happens, because chances are high it will. Plan accordingly and keep your emotions in check. We ALL want to get in there and play :D |
