Diablo 3 Cracked?
|
I'm un-aware if this has been posted yet, I haven't been keeping up with the forums as of late. If it has, a point in the right direction will be appreciated. :)
Also, I am not one to really create topics about D3. But I thought some of you may find this interesting, especially because there has been discussions relating to this topic - and of course, scepticism of whether or not it would happen. As this article briefly explains, merely a few days ago, Diablo III has been cracked for both Offline and LAN play - what was thought impossible, only took a month to happen. Apparently made by Veteran Crackers. The article doesn't mention the names, but a simple Google search and you'll find an all too familiar name with what looks like a heavily populated link to the game. I had a look, and I realised something. I'm not even that interested. I've watched plenty of videos, I've seen all the cut-scenes, I've read the plot. I've heard the terrible voice acting and I've dismissed the skill rune system.
...It's nice to know I couldn't even be bothered pirating it. If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

" I know exactly how you feel. I saw it, found it amusing that a crack had finally been made - but then just never felt to bother with it. I mean, with all of the added extras of the above you mentioned, there's still a fair amount of work the user has to do in order to even get the crack working. >.< ...I think I'll just wait for TL2 and play PoE in the mean time. xD Strange that, maybe we've just been worn out hearing about it? There is no crack for d3 and never will be. There is a d3 emulator (that can work in LAN) that is full of bugs. Monster drops only rare items, and a lot of gold. There are only few first quests in game that are very bugged. A lot of things don't function, and will stay that way for some time.
So the info from that article is not correct. The game is not fully playable, and will need a lot of work to become anything close to original d3. |

" Well yes, you are correct. I tend to still use 'cracked' even though the game is server based. Just a general term that is slowly broadening it's meaning to those who aren't particular with names I guess? :) Maybe so, but considering they managed to get this far in a month, I'm sure they'll be updating for quite some time. I really don't think they're finished emulating it - and I'm sure they're aware of bugs, most likely looking for ways to fix them as we speak. Really, it's a progress report stating that there is an 'crack'(emulator). At least that's how I view it. :) "If a theory cannot be explained to a child. They'll never get the emulator to be the same as retail servers. I wouldn't expect them to get beyond what private WoW servers can do.

" You're not missing out on much. I stopped playing after 2 weeks when I realized the game is an endless gold grind/RMAH trip. Only if I hadn't bought the Collector's Edition...Blizzard trolled us all. "A communion...but with what? By all accounts, it wasn't God that the Vaal were trying to reach." -Icius Perandus

" After playing Diablo 3 for one weekend, I could see it was going nowhere fast. I too bought the CE. And though I had already activated the CE code, I was able to still sell the physical parts (art book, soundtrack, skull/usb, etc) for 130USD. So I pretty much broke even (after taxes and shipping costs). Check around on Amazon/eBay to see how the market is for the physical items. My feeling is that we (people who were massively disappointed) are the vocal minority. I'm sure the masses are still goo-goo-ga-ga for that shell of a game. |

No, the crack/emulator isn't by that familiar group we all know. It's just idiots using/misusing their name.

Via packet scans and datamining I am sure a pretty decent pirate version will appear given due time.
D3 should have NEVER been online only... but then again this is more about their publisher wanting DRM.
