Shipment Ransom bug (?)

So, during the week end, my ship got commandeered and i died against the boss, i was short on gold at the time so of course i didnt have enough gold, but now im well over ''50k'' gold required for the ransom and i cant do anything,also if i dont put all of my gold into the town, i dont even see the gold requirement for the ransom and i basically cant interact with the button at all.

is this normal? is it an either you rescue or ransom and you cant try the other one if you fail? If so why do i still have the option to abandon, shouldnt i just lose the crew and shipment immediatly?

I have the same problem, I thought the update had fixed the bug, but he just told me that I needed a ransom of 50,000 gold, but I still couldn't pay ransom

Have the same issue.
However I finally received an info from support if boss fight is lost there is no possibility to pay ransom.
It would be good to add clear info about it in game .

So why do they keep the "abandon" button after failing the boss fight? Why not just make the ship disappear directly?
