Essence not dropping rare item with essence modifier

I specced into 4 atlas nodes that add up to this stat:
Imprisoned Monsters in your Maps have 100% chance to drop an additional rare item with an essence modifier. They often do not drop a rare item with an essence modifier. probably converted to gold? Last bumped on Aug 4, 2024, 7:01:16 AM

Do identified items drop? Low level essence mods do not have the name "essence mod", instead they have regular names.

some don't drop any identified rares, let alone any rare.
