[BAN][AUTO] Banned for 3rd party software after launching the game for the 1st time in my life

I recently started playing the new season of Path of Exile on July 26th and was enjoying the game. I was so excited that I immediately purchased the most expensive supporter pack, spending $90 to support the developers. However, just a few hours later, I was suddenly banned for “3rd party software” (botting). The only other applications I had running were Riot’s client and the Mobalitics app on Overwolf. Neither of these interacted with Path of Exile or made any changes to the game.

As a complete beginner, I was simply following a leveling guide from Maxroll, trying to learn the game. Despite this, I was banned without any explanation or investigation. The support team refused to look into my gameplay to verify if the ban was justified and only responded with pre-generated, copy-pasted answers. The ban is permanent.

I am not alone in this experience—many others have been banned for no apparent reason:

I am sharing this to warn everyone to be extremely cautious about purchasing any microtransactions from this company. They can revoke your access to the game at any time and for any reason, as outlined in their policy rules. You could be banned for simply having unrelated applications running in the background, even if they have nothing to do with your Path of Exile gameplay.

I would ban you too for using riot games on your pc.

It took me a long time to figure out that you could hide your details on the forum lol.

They likely have irrefutable proof you were cheating / using specifically banned 3rd party software. There are only a few things that set off their alarm bells, and it is exceedingly rare for them to make legitimate errors. And they are known for being generally receptive to (legitimate) defenses.

And "botting" is a pretty darn specific offense. Very hard for an automated process to mis-register a bot

Not only that....but even in one (or two) of the links provided to other examples, they figured out WHY they were banned in like the first 5 comments lol. Oops. Portuguese one was using an "illegal" vpn, with a citation clearly against that in the ToS (via steam). The third link also has a similar "discovery" in the comments.
