Smelting still occurs even with 0 workers and 0 Production Rate
Not only does it not fit the theme of the Kingsmarch machine, this is a problem because you can get auto-smelted out of Improvement upgrades.
Say I get 200 Verisium Ore and want to sit on it overnight to upgrade Shipping Improvements to Rank 7 (requires 250 Verisium Ore). It starts getting smelted instead of being able to save it to upgrade when I get more. By the time I get the second set, I will be below the amount required. Said upgrade does not accept Verisium Bars. ![]() ![]() Mercenaries: 99 SC: 95 97 96 100 95 96 97 98 95 97 96 HC: 96(dead) Character archive: view-thread/963707 Last bumped on Jul 30, 2024, 10:24:25 PM

Not a bug.
You will have to remove all workers from all ores to completely stop smelting until you save up for the upgrade. ![]() |

Yeah I just figured that out by accident.
I don't know where you found that tooltip, I just looked everywhere I could think, hovering every single UX element of Smelting Information, Smelting Improvements, Town Map Smelting stuff. Clearly not intuitive at all, and unnecessary. The rate is negligible and only causes problems, as this post clearly illustrates. That you'd have to pause literally all Smelting while you wait for the specific Ore you need, in case other Smelts finish, is also bass-ackwards. " Did this, still smelted all my bismuth. If the behavior isn’t a bug in the code, it’s a bug in someone’s game-design decisions. |
