Bismuth ore is auto-smelting into bars without anyone assigned to smelt it.

Same, I can't upgrade my town anymore because all my Verisium Ore is being converted into bars even tho no one is assigned to them.

Note: I don't hate this feature, but it should be something that is toggled or actively described in-game.
